Rodrigo Facundo

Rodrigo studied art at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia and completed his BA and a MA in painting at the University of Illinois, Champaign. Upon his return to Colombia, Rodrigo received a postgraduate degree in multimedia at the School of Arts of the Universidad de los Andes.

Equally as important as Rogrigo’s academic training is his constant learning of various crafts and artistic traditions in schools and with expert instructors in different parts of the world. Rodrigo has studied photographic techniques, sculpture, electronics, assembly, metallurgy, weaving, ceramics, metal forging, miniatures, the production and manipulation of felt, and graphic production.

Along with his creative work, Rodrigo has been an active project manager. As director of LIA (Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Arts), a venue he co-founded with María Teresa Guerrero, Hermann Pieschacón, and Leonor Cobo, he has worked to promote many young artists and established masters from different countries around the world.
